Aim of the subject
Students are trained for managing technical literature in English language and using basic communication skills.
Knowledge and skills
Familiarity and practical application of basic technical vocabulary in the field of applied computer science; Managing common communication situations in English language, exchanging information and opinions in the context of the profession. Usage of grammar structures. Writing short descriptions and explanations connected to professional topics.
Lectures content
Grammar: Types of words and their usage. Verbs and tenses. Passive in past, present and future. Comparison of adjectives. The possessive form of nouns and collective nouns. Indirect speech.
Professional topics: Computer application. Parts of electronic computer; input-output units. Operating systems. Multimedia. Networks. Internet. Data security...
Exercises content
Grammar structures, conversation about applied computer science topics, reading and translating applied computer science topics.
